About Role - Remote Senior WordPress Developer

This is a fully remote role and requires fluency in written and verbal English.

You will be reporting directly to the CTO based in the UK. As Senior WordPress Developer, you'll participate in all development aspects of the solution. Your mission will be to drive the progress of the web application and the development team while providing the best user experience imaginable. This is a full-time permanent role for a true self-starter, someone who wants to build something from the beginning.

As our Senior WordPress developer, you'll be responsible for

  • Delivering front and back end elements of builds on your own initiative
  • Testing and refining code base for strong accessibility and usability
  • Ensuring sites are W3C compliant and in line with Google guidelines
  • Training junior team members
  • Drawing up website specifications-Designing sample page layouts
  • Supporting our graphic designer in the creation of graphics, animations, and other content for web
  • Designing the websites visual imagery and ensuring it's in line with client/company brand guidelines
  • Testing websites before live, ensuring they're ready to take to market
  • Working with customers, to achieve desired new features and bug fixes
  • Shine with engineering excellence by developing test infrastructures, writing documentation, ensuring high performance, and following an agile development methodology
  • Write entirely new code and maintain and update existing code
  • Research on new frameworks for improving the architecture
  • Ensure development best practices are followed (Clean Code, Clean Architecture, code reviews)
  • Actively communicate with the stakeholders, team members, and clients

What do we value?

  • Ability to quickly script a working solution for a given problem.
  • A minimum of 3 years WordPress experience
  • Strong proficiency with HTML5, MySQL, JavaScript, Jquery, CSS3
  • Strong Proficiency in PHP, ASP, Python, .net /XML would be an advantage
  • Working knowledge of other CMS systems like Magento, WebFlow/Sitejet, Shopify is good
  • WordPress theme development (custom)
  • Knowledge in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is an advantage
