RemoteStar is looking to hire a Senior Solution Architect on behalf of our client headquartered in Amsterdam. 

About Role - Solution Architect-Amsterdam 

An Amsterdam based company is looking for a dynamic, creative, Solution Architect  to join their development team and build extraordinary software. You will be working in the Cambridge Office

Senior Solution Architect, you will be working for a unique, diverse, and collaborative organisation serving Research & Education networking. 

 This is a full-time permanent role for a true self-starter, someone who wants to build something from the beginning. 


Senior Solution Architect, you will: 

  • Be part of their small and highly collaborative business applications team, located across their Cambridge and Amsterdam offices, 

  • Help the client to improve the maturity of their software as well as develop their overall technology delivery capabilities. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, 

  • Interpret and evaluate business requirements and propose end-to-end solutions.

  •  Develop project and product specifications as well as ensuring that development and release processes follow a consistent system-wide approach.

  •  Also do some hands-on development work, developing prototypes, contributing code and evaluating technologies. 

What do we value?

  • A degree (or equivalent), in computer science or a related discipline and have a comprehensive understanding of the full stack software development lifecycle.

  • Extensive experience working in environments using Git and CI/CD pipelines for development.

  • Extensive experience with Agile development (SCRUM and Kanban)

  • Extensive experience and knowledge of software product quality assurance topics such as unit/component/system/performance testing, static code analysis

  • Experience deploying applications and services on both VM’s and cloud-native infrastructures

  • Extensive programming experience with Python and common tools and frameworks, such as Pip, setuptools, Flask, SQLAlchemy, Alembic

  • Professional experience with at least one other common development stack (e.g. Java or C++)

  • Good to have- Extensive experience with configuring and deploying applications on Linux (RHEL 7/8, Ubuntu 20.04/22.04)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as is the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
